Hunt Buddy BC offers a practical approach to accessing the Hunting Regulations Synopsis for British Columbia, Canada, providing a streamlined alternative to traditional review methods.

Additional mapping features, including offline topographic maps and other mapping tools, are available via in-app purchases to enhance the user experience.

The application utilizes device GPS functionality to identify the current Management Unit (MU), or allows selection from a list or map. It provides comprehensive at-a-glance information about each MU, including:

• Open seasons, dates, and bag limits
• Links to detailed maps
• Restrictions related to motor vehicles, shooting, and other activities
• Sunrise/sunset times and moon phase data

Users can select any date to view the applicable seasons and restrictions for their planning purposes. The interface consolidates crucial information, avoiding the need to navigate multiple tables or maps. The open season list and detailed page include quick links to definitions, restrictions, maps, and additional resources within the Synopsis.

The app also incorporates the 2024-2026 Regulations Synopsis and the 2025-2026 Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) Synopsis.

Optional in-app purchases include:

• LEH Zone Boundaries: Download comprehensive LEH zone data and selectively display zones on the map.
• Mapping Package: Download topo maps covering parks, protected areas, recreation sites, and trails; manage tracks and waypoints; customize map layers; record GPS tracks and pins with your device's built-in GPS; import/export GPX data. Note that background GPS activity may significantly impact battery life.
